Developing Youth Minority Leadership (DYML):

·         DYML is a three-tiered mentoring program designed to match an elementary age minority student with a high school age minority student for school based mentoring. In addition, the high school minority will then be matched with an adult community member in a leadership role.

·         The adult mentor is to expose the high school student to leadership opportunities within their career field for 2 hours/month, with the help and guidance from Big Brothers Big Sisters Staff.  This can be accomplished by including the student in meetings and tasks at the adult’s job and reviewing leadership development skills outline by BBBSGI staff.

·         DYML should expose minority youth to opportunities for leadership within the community

·         Volunteers for DYML must pass same screening process as Community and School Based mentoring.
